Artist Koshal Hamal (in red sweater) and all the students and artists in the room – Raju Giri on my left! – were a wonderful public of my lecture ‘Light in the City – a rhetoricl perspective’ at NexUs Culture Nepal. Thank you Ashmina Ranjit for hosting the event. Born in 1988 Koshal is a conceptual multi-media artist working with painting, sculpture and video. Departing from the idea of appropriation and the broad contemporary visual cultures, he says “the notion of identity and the representation of mis-representation are the main features of my work.” A bit on his brand of conceptual art here.
